Indian Rheumatolgy Association, though Indian Journal of Rheumatology has an undergraduate Rheumatology fellowship program. The program will encourage UGs to undertake rheumatology research projects and will support them with these fellowships. The completed projects will be presented at the annual rheumatology conference of Indian Rheumatology Association (IRA).
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
All under-graduate medical students from both government and private institutions are eligible to submit a proposal for consideration. IRA's focus is specifically to advance the education and clinical practice of rheumatology in the developing world and therefore submitted proposals should demonstrate how they will impact improvements in education and/or the clinical practice of rheumatology.
Scheme:
A panel of judges will review research proposals. Strict confidentiality will be maintained. Based on the recommendations of this panel, the award will be given to the 05 best proposals. Each fellowship will carry a grant worth Rs 5,000. The completed projects will be presented at the annual rheumatology conference of Indian Rheumatology Association (IRA).
How to Apply
The research proposal should be submitted as per the following prescribed proforma :-
1. Abstract of the proposal not exceeding 500 words.
2. Title of the project.
3. Name, address & designation of chief investigator & co-investigators.
4. Objectives
5. Scientific background, significance and impact value of the project.
6. Methodology and plan of work including time schedules.
7. Details of available resources including personnel and equipment.
8. Consent form for patient/volunteer.
Important dates
1. Last date of submission of proposal: 31 Mar 2016
2. Date of announcement of fellowships: 15 April 2016
3. Completion of projects by : 15 Jul 2016
4. Last date of submission of completed projects: 15 Aug 2016
5. Presentation of papers: At IRACON 2016
The proposal should be forwarded through the Head of the Department where the proposed work will be conducted. The research work should be completed and the report submitted within in 3 months of date of sanction. The grant money will be released in the name of the student research worker on receipt of the completed project report.
You must use the provided IJR project proposal form as a template to submit your project for consideration. All projects must be submitted via electronic mail no later than 31 Mar 2016. Proposals received after that date will not be considered. Please send project proposals to: injorheumat@gmail.com.
