All abstracts must be topics/sections pertaining to Clinical Immunology & Rheumatology under the relevant work category

  • Clinical (Oral or Poster Presentation)
  • Basic/Translational (Oral or Poster Presentation)
  • Case Report/Series (only Poster Presentation)

Please select India if work has been done in India and International if work has been done outside India.

1.ABSTRACTS ON ORIGINAL RESEARCH (Clinical or Basic/ Translational)

The main content of the abstract should not be more than 300 words (excluding title, authors list and affiliation, references)

The content (main body) of the abstract should be structured into the following sections:

  • Title
  • Authors & Affiliation
  • There is a provision of mentioning 10 co-authors in the online abstract submission form. In case you have more than 10 co-authors, the complete list of authors may be included in the Microsoft Word format*

    Presenting author with his/ her designation should be mentioned separately

  • Main body/ Content of the Abstract
  • Background

    Objectives

    Methods

    Results

    Conclusions

    References (optional)

Table: The table can be submitted (uploaded) as an image with the text/ content clearly visible in the file.

Image: The image can be submitted in high quality JPEG, PNG, PDF or WORD format. Send a clearly labelled figure (e.g., Figure 1. MRI wrist) as a separate file.

Please note that one table/one image or two tables or two images can be submitted.

*Microsoft Word Format for the abstract inclusive of all details for abstract publication should be uploaded at the designated clickable tab on the website during the abstract submission process. This will be submitted, without any modifications to Indian Journal of Rheumatology.


2.CASE REPORTS/ CASE SERIES (only poster presentation)

  • Members as well as non-members of the Indian Rheumatology Association are eligible to submit an abstract
  • Abstract once submitted cannot be modified
  • Abstracts that describe original Clinical or Basic/ Translational science related to the broad area of rheumatic diseases may be submitted
  • If the abstract reports results of a clinical trial, you will be required to provide information on the trial phase and the trial registration with Clinical Trial Registry of India (CTRI) (as a part of the main abstract/ case study body)
  • The abstract should not have been already published or should not be a part of a review which is being considered for publication in a peer reviewed journal
  • Any work with human or animal subjects reported in submitted abstracts must comply with the guiding principles for experimental procedures in the World Medical Association Declaration of Helsinki
  • Last date for submission of abstracts is 10th October 2022 (9 am) IST
  • Registration for the conference is mandatory for presentation of the abstract
  • Abstracts will be judged according to the scientific merit and relevance by the scientific committee and assigned for poster or oral presentations
  • Abstract should not contain brand names, trade names or non-standard acronyms or any commercial advertisements
  • Please select India if work has been done in India and International if work has been done outside India.
  • The presenting author should be willing to present the work during the IRACON 2022 as either an oral platform presentation or poster presentation as assigned by the scientific committee
  • It is implied that the authors, by virtue of submission of the abstract, agree to the publication of the same in the souvenir of the conference/ Indian Journal of Rheumatology
  • Abstracts can only be submitted online via the online abstract submission system provided on the conference website - https://www.indianrheumatology.org/iracon2022/abstracts
  • Abstracts sent by post or email will not be accepted. No exceptions will be made
  • Please ensure that your abstract does not contain spelling, grammatical or scientific errors, as it will be reproduced exactly as submitted. No proofreading will be done by the committee/ organizers
  • The final decision about acceptance of an abstract will be taken by the IRACON Scientific Committee. IRACON does not correspond on the reasons for acceptance/rejection of an abstract
  • Should you decide to withdraw your abstract, a written statement reflecting the reasons for this decision must be sent to the IRACON 2022 Secretariat (e-mail: iracon2022@indianrheumatology.org) not later than 20th September, 2022
  • If an abstract is accepted as a poster presentation, the presenting author will be requested to be available for discussion during the corresponding poster viewing session
  • If an abstract is selected for oral presentation, the presenting author, as specified at the time of submission, will be requested to present it in the assigned session. At the time of abstract submission, the submitter must identify who will be the presenting author
  • To be eligible as presenting author, the individual will be required to give an undertaking that he/she had full access to all data in the study and takes full responsibility for the integrity of the data, accuracy of data analysis, and has the approval of other authors for presentation. The presenting author need not be the first author but must be a listed author on the abstract. Only one presenter is permitted per abstract

  • The submitting author is the sole point of contact for all abstract co-authors. The organizing committee will direct all inquiries/ details/ instructions to the submitting author
  • The organizing committee requests the author(s) to refrain from contacting the organisers or scientific chair personally or by phone/ email or any other mode
  • Abstract status / mode of presentation and format of Poster/ Oral (platform) presentation will be notified to the submitting author via e-mail by the 20th October, 2022
  • Once an abstract is submitted, an acknowledgement of submission will be sent to the submitting author
  • The decision of the scientific committee to accept/ reject the abstract and the mode of presentation (oral/poster) and award of bursary would be final. No correspondence/ recommendation shall be entertained in this regard.
  • Bursaries for trainees [DM/DNB/Fellowship (Clinical Immunology & Rheumatology) & MD/DNB (General Medicine/ Pediatrics)] will be allotted on merit for selected abstracts. Kindly ensure that a letter from HOD/ Program Director is also submitted as a supporting document in PDF format.
  • Status on bursary will be announced during the closing ceremony of the conference
